With both parents and two grandparents still participating in motor sport, its easy to see where Julian Garfield gets his passion and desire for competition. Driving some sort of motorized device from one year old on up, hes had four wheels under him for most of his life. Starting behind the wheel of a push-car, then battery powered cars, Julian hopped into karts at an early age. This early start and ongoing connection has made the steering wheel an extension of his body.

Due to location and expense, Julian has been driving in SCCA Solo (autocrossing) since he was five years old. Immediately stepping up to the next fastest thing, his desire for speed was obvious. From handling the 9hp Comer on the Kid Kart at 6yrs old to driving the 60cc shifter kart at 9yrs old, his coordination and natural skill has been obvious. Julian has accomplished all this while practicing his race craft at sprint races and spending winters at an indoor track where hes competed with kids twice his age.
In 2008 Julian continued to show his incredible SCCA Solo abilities by winning both the FJB Solo National Championship and the FJB Pro Solo National Series Championship. Along with his Solo competition, Julian entered Sprint Racing competition in the form of Rotax Minimax. In his first full season of Sprint racing, Julian won the Keystone/Buckeye Region Rotax series in Minimax.
